What you'll be doing...
As a Head Chef you will be proactively managing and supporting a catering team as well as creating a platform for financial growth through cost control and culinary excellence.
* Lead, motivate, and manage a culinary team within a CPU environment
* Oversee large-scale food preparation and ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
* Ensure excellent communication within the team and across departments
* Work closely with the Development Chef to execute and evolve menu standards
* Manage kitchen operations including ordering, stock rotation, and traceability
* Maintain control of labour and food costs within budget
* Ensure compliance with Food Safety, COSHH, H&S, Environmental Regulations, and all legal responsibilities
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across all areas of the CPU
* Monitor and record daily HACCP processes and ensure full due diligence
* Deliver against KPIs including output targets, wastage reduction, and quality consistency
* Proven ability to cook and lead in large-volume environments (hundreds of portions daily)
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Calm under pressure with excellent organisational ability
* A positive "can do" attitude with an eye for detail
* Able to work collaboratively with support teams including logistics, compliance, and development chefs
* Confident preparing and cooking meals to a consistently high standard
* Good IT literacy and confident using production systems and kitchen software
* Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum Level 3 Food Safety and Health & Safety
* Allergen awareness training (can be provided)
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations
* Passion for food and operational efficiency
* Flexible and reliable - available to work Sunday to Thursday
Working Pattern: Sunday-Thursday / 6.30am-3.00pm / 40 hours per week

* Previous experience in a CPU or high-volume production kitchen is essential
