Flexible Part/Full Time Teaching Assistant – SEMH role - Bristol A rewarding opportunity has become available for a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH School in Bristol. The school supports children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as a range of additional Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing a structured and nurturing learning environment. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is resilient, empathetic and passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils. The role involves supporting learning across the curriculum, helping to manage behaviour, and building positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education. The successful candidate will: Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or in a similar support role Be confident in promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging situations calmly and effectively Be patient, understanding, and able to build strong, respectful relationships with pupils and staff Be adaptable and proactive in supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom Work collaboratively as part of a dedicated and experienced team In return, the school offers: A supportive working environment with a strong team ethos A chance for a permanent contract Ongoing professional development and training opportunities Small class sizes with high staff-to-pupil ratios A focus on wellbeing for both staff and pupils This is an ideal role for someone who wants to contribute to a positive, child-centred setting where every day brings the chance to make a real impact.
