Overview
Edmund Optics is a leading manufacturer and supplier of optics, imaging, and photonics technology. Edmund Optics Europe supports sales, marketing, distribution, engineering and application support for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. We are looking for a Group Product Manager (f/m/d) to lead a team of product managers and oversee strategy, roadmap, and execution of key product categories.
The Group Product Manager (GPM) collaborates with sales, marketing, supply chain, and design engineering to develop and execute business cases for new product initiatives. Some travel is required.
Essential Functions
* Lead, mentor, and train a team of product managers across multiple product lines and locations
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer-centric thinking
* Set individual goals/KPIs, conduct regular reviews, and support career development
* Lead product discovery to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive dynamics
* Drive a data-informed approach to product prioritization and optimization
* Define, execute, and communicate the product strategy and plan for specific product areas
* Develop business cases, roadmaps, forecasts, and market analyses for product areas
* Develop pricing and product launch strategies aligned with corporate goals
* Maintain relationships with key suppliers, partners, and customers
* Translate customer pain points into clear, actionable product requirements
* Stay informed on competitive landscape and emerging technologies
* Comply with statutory and company policies, procedures, and regulations
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, or related technical field
* 8+ years in product management with at least 5 years in leadership or people management (MBA or equivalent experience preferred)
* Proven success in ideating or launching successful products
* Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
* High initiative, analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills
* Entrepreneurial spirit and technical curiosity
* Ability to manage a heavy workload of multiple concurrent projects
* Proficiency with MS Office; willingness to travel occasionally
