The Management Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance team, ensuring that all financial records are complete and accurate. Duties will include overseeing payroll journals, intercompany reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, revenue analysis, facilitating and advising on improvements to procedures and controls, initial setup of acquisitions in accounting system, as well as ad-hoc projects. Works under general supervision from Financial Controller, UK. What you’ll do: Preparing monthly Payroll journals, along with reconciling in accounting system. Ongoing intercompany reconciliations, clearing down outstanding queries on a monthly basis, and managing intercompany loans and loan interest. Leading on monthly Balance Sheet review for a number of subsidiaries within the Publishing department, with any discrepancies analyzed and discussed with Financial Controller, UK. Prepare reports and analyze monthly royalty cash revenue receipts, discussing variations with Income Tracking, and presenting variances to budget with Financial Controller, UK. Managing the onboarding of any new acquisitions into the accounting system and supporting cleanup of any historic or ongoing discrepancies, needs or requirements. Managing Belgian and French subsidiaries, including VAT returns, annual filing of accounts, and ongoing awareness of local territory requirements, working alongside external accounting firm. Work alongside Finance & Accounting Manager, UK and Financial Controller, UK in the annual Budgeting process, challenging assumptions and supporting delivery of robust budgets. Assessing business processes and driving efficiencies and innovation. Discuss utilization of accounting system and improvements. Transactional support on any requests from external audit firm on finalizing statutory accounts. Provide technical support to other members of the finance team. Develop and maintain a Finance handbook of all processes and procedures. Undertake ad-hoc projects, as set out by the Financial Controller, UK.
