Job Description
Our Supply Chain team are working to create a best in class supply chain function to deliver competitive advantage through introducing innovation and delivering best costs, security of supply and service in the industry. To support this ambition, we are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to focus on supply chain operations across retail food and GNFR, and recycling services.
Based from our Burton on Trent office (50% hybrid working) and reporting to the Supply Chain Lead, this key role provides variety alongside the ability to be strategic and the freedom to innovate.
Your role as a Supply Chain Manager...
* Leads the food, drink and GNFR Northern distribution contract which is open book, dedicated contract, where risk and liabilities mainly sit with GK. Role is to maximise service, control costs and challenge key areas, ensuring aligned to GK strategic plans/projects & culture, all aligned with a pub first approach
* Controls all operational contractual obligations within the Northern Supply Chain
* Responsible for managing trade waste partner’s operational and contractual obligations, whilst also being responsible for the backhauled recycling across the total supply chain
* Central lead in all GK trade waste recycling/management dealing with all service issues including legal complaints, etc, maintains recycling standards in the network and is central lead for all ESG, legislation/waste data and compliance
* Leads a number of key projects within the Northern Supply Chain ensuring delivered to plan and budget, whilst ensuring no impact to service
* Reviewing the industry for new innovation and added value technology that supports Greene King’s and the supply chain’s strategy.
* Driving best practice in the pubs to improve the level and quality of recycling and maximising the commodity revenues through our recycling partner
* Responsible for ensuring new menus and other key events such as Christmas are successfully planned and delivered from an operational perspective (picked accurately and on time and delivered to pubs, plus all recycling collected as per the schedule) in the Northern Supply Chain
* Responsible for all brand swaps and investments, ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget from a Northern Supply Chain perspective
* Interfacing with Trade Channels to support growth and innovation
* Responsible for a team of two, including development and growth plans
Qualifications
What you'll bring...
To be successful in this role, you will have previous supply chain management experience including experience in open book contract management, and experience in delivering complex projects. Additional experience focused on sustainability/ESG will be highly regarded. In addition to your experience, you will demonstrate the following skills:
* Experience in multi-temperature fast moving product environment
* Supply chain experience and proven record of delivering excellent service and complex projects within a fast paced environment
* Proven leadership and management experience of leading a team through large key events and complex projects
* Commercial acumen
* Analytical skills
* A growth mindset with the desire to continue to improve and innovate
* This role requires frequent travelling; you must have a valid driving license
