The Role
We are seeking a Sample Prep Technician to support our Laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have good organisational skills and be able to follow verbal and written instructions. This is a fast-paced environment where you will work alongside a talented team in a friendly and innovative setting.
This position offers a salary of £23,481 per annum.
Overview
RPS Laboratories, part of the RPS Group, provides high-quality customer care and analytical services across various sectors including pathology, occupational hygiene, and environmental analysis. Our laboratories are known internationally for solving complex analytical problems.
Responsibilities
* Prepare samples of crops and foodstuffs for analysis.
* Work as part of a team to meet goals set by the Laboratory Manager.
* Maintain stock of consumables necessary for daily tasks.
* Ensure routine laboratory tasks are completed to keep operations smooth.
* Assist in other tasks as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
* Follow health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
* Adhere to and maintain quality documentation as per procedures.
All duties should be performed professionally, including wearing appropriate safety gear.
Experience/Skills
* Good time management, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
* Ability to follow instructions and seek advice when needed.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Experience in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Health and Safety
This role involves manual handling and exposure to foods, cold environments, noise, and machinery.
* Handling foods, including nuts.
* Working in cold conditions.
* Exposure to noise.
* Operating machinery.
