Job Description:
Job overview
Barts Health is the largest NHS trust in the UK, boasting 3 emergency departments, including the Royal London Hospital. We are a major trauma centre and hyper acute stroke unit providing urgent specialist treatment to North East London and beyond. We work closely with research colleagues to integrate pioneering, world-class care and treatments, developing new pathways and services to provide an efficient, patient-centered approach to emergency medicine.
The Royal London Emergency Department has been recognized as the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, 2018 Clinical Team of the Year. This reflects our commitment to excellence and providing top emergency services. Our department also received the ‘Barts Health Hero Awards’ in 2018/19 for respectfulness.
We offer structured orientation and ongoing mentorship to support your early career in Emergency nursing, following the RCN national emergency nursing framework competencies. Our experienced team will support you in achieving these competencies and provide pathways into ED and trauma courses. Our department offers a unique learning environment to help you meet your learning objectives.
Please note, applicants who applied in the last 3 months need not re-apply.
Main duties of the job
Our department offers exciting secondment opportunities, including the Physician Response Unit, which incorporates nurses into the pre-hospital MDT response team. Successful development program participants will be integrated into our sister service, the REACH (Rapid Emergency Assessment Coordination HUB), providing emergency care in the community. We encourage nurses to lead in areas of interest and support team projects for quality improvement.
You should have over six months' acute post-registration experience, demonstrating high standards of care, resilience, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
With diverse career options, we support your professional growth within Barts Health.
