Join to apply for the Consultant in Ear, Nose & Throat role at NHS Scotland.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our expanding team as Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Consultants. This is offered as a full time permanent position. The successful applicant will have an interest in general adult and paediatric ENT, joining a team of established surgeons. The main base for this post is University Hospital Crosshouse, with outpatient clinics at University Hospital Crosshouse and University Hospital Ayr. The department hosts the National Cochlear Implant Service and related clinics exist for middle ear implant, neck lump and head and neck oncology, cochlear clinic and balance clinic. The post holder will participate on the consultant on-call rota (currently 1:6, prospectively 1:8 with recruitment) and contribute to MDT working, service development, clinical audit and research.
The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the New Consultant Contract (Scotland) 2004 and sessions are offered on a 10 PA basis. Applications from individuals who may wish to work fewer programmed activities are welcomed. Ayrshire offers countryside and easy access to Glasgow and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities
* Join a team of ENT surgeons and participate in assessment, treatment, surgery and follow-up as required.
* Contribute to MDT working and service development; engage in clinical audit and research.
* Participate in the consultant on-call rota (frequency currently 1:6, reducing to 1:8 with recruitment) supported by a middle grade team.
* Collaborate with related services within Head and Neck Directorate and Cancer services as appropriate.
* Provide leadership and support within the ENT service and engage in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration and inclusion on the GMC Specialist List in ENT (or demonstrable equivalent training/experience).
* Higher specialist training in ENT and a demonstrated record of clinical practice in general adult and paediatric ENT.
* Ability to participate in on-call duties and MDT activities.
* Interviews are scheduled for 06/10/2025 from 09:30am onwards.
