A long-established and growing UK-based business is seeking a Sales Engineer to join its team. The company supplies into a range of technical industries and is known for its quality products and strong customer focus.
The Role
The Sales Engineer will play a key role in supporting customers with technical product solutions while managing and developing a portfolio of accounts. The position is field-based, requiring regular travel within a defined region.
Key responsibilities include:
* Building and maintaining strong relationships through regular face-to-face customer visits
* Managing existing accounts to ensure continued satisfaction and identify new opportunities
* Identifying and developing new business within the territory
* Delivering technical solutions based on a broad product range
* Meeting and exceeding monthly sales targets and contributing to branch performance
* Collaborating with internal sales and support teams to provide a seamless customer experience
* Managing diaries effectively to maximise time spent with customers
* Maintaining a good understanding of market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements
* Tracking sales performance and reporting activity and pipeline updates to management
The Candidate
To be considered for this position, you should ideally have:
Previous experience in a field-based technical sales engineering role
A strong track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets
A full UK driving licence
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to understand and explain technical products to customers
Self-motivated, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
Organised, with effective time management
Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM software
The Package
Basic salary in the region of £40,000 – £45,000, plus performance-based commission
