Dearboy Petcare is a brand-new manufacturer of high-quality pet food, new to Wrexham. The business will be serving natural and nutritious pet food to pet owners in the UK and globally.
The Role – MSK Engineer
Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you will work as part of the flexible team to provide technical and engineering support to keep the site running efficiently, identifying areas for engineering improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety, while still operating with regard to current legislative compliance.
You will be working closely with our automation equipment from suppliers in Europe, developing knowledge that will enable you to get involved with the machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring production downtime is minimized through planned and preventative maintenance of equipment including Siemens PLC systems, conveyor systems, boilers, depositors, packing systems, robotic tray sealing machines, jet printers, etc.
* Managing reactive maintenance and responding to breakdowns
* Performing daily strip-downs and rebuilds of machines after cleaning
* Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures and technical standards
* Contributing to the construction of preventative maintenance programs
* Identifying and implementing improvements
* Training and mentoring team members
The Package
As a MSK Engineer at our new Wrexham facility, benefits include:
* Permanent full-time contract, initially 8-hour shifts, evolving to a 6-day operation
* Salary in the region of £44,000 to £48,000, negotiable based on experience
* Paid overtime
* 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Requirements
* Experience with planned and preventative maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing
* Experience with PLC systems and robotics
* Strong electrical fault-finding skills
* Understanding of PPM systems in FMCG environments
* Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
* Proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach
