We are currently looking for an Outreach Officer to join us. The Outreach Officer will contribute to the delivery of key University strategies by supporting the prospective student journey at key stages of their education, primarily in the school environment, by supporting our ENU Home Recruitment targets. As the Outreach Officer, you will get to put your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to use, mainly by being at the forefront of developing and delivering Edinburgh Napiers school outreach programme of activity. This encompasses a range of on and off campus workshops and presentations, covering all secondary school year groups. The Schools Outreach Team have responsibility for delivering and supporting all school-based outreach activity across the UK as well as some targeted collaborative widening participation projects, e.g LEAPS including supporting pupils coming from a potentially low-progression and widening participation background. This will involve with working in partnership with a number of local and national external organisations. You will also work closely with key internal contacts (including with our Academic Schools), to create and delivery subject specific interventions aligned to ENU targets and objectives. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to make a difference by working with young people to support in their journey to university, helping them to develop aspirations in a range of environments. In addition to working directly with schools, you will have to opportunity to get involved in the work carried out by the wider UK Student Recruitment & Outreach (UKSRO) team, covering College Outreach, and Student Recruitment Events. Please note that there will be a requirement for UK-wide travel in this role, therefore the successful candidate must be comfortable driving and travelling independently. Who we are looking for Relevant experience in student recruitment, widening participation or other similar areas Excellent communication and relationship building skills, particularly with prospective students and/or customers Experience of planning and delivering workshops Strong organisational skills Experience of working collaboratively with others as well as ability to work independently where required It would be advantageous if you have experience of working with young people within the education sector A valid (Full) driving license Benefits we offer Salary: £31,236 - £ 37,694 per annum (Grade 4) plus excellent benefits We offer a great working environment where we support ambition, recognise achievement, and offer an attractive benefits package.
