Role Purpose
The PT Pupil Support will be responsible for leading and managing Support for Learning at Selkirk High School.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* Work with data and senior leaders to develop a strategic vision/improvement plan to improve outcomes for all learners.
* Lead a team of Pupil Support staff to deliver the strategic vision and meet learners' needs.
* Allocate resources, including staff, effectively.
* Support learning across the school by identifying key support strategies, monitoring pupil progress, and collaborating with teachers and faculties.
* Gather, analyze, and utilize evidence to support assessment arrangements, including SQA examinations.
* Maintain and update ASN pupil data and communicate with stakeholders.
* Work in partnership with parents, support staff, and professionals.
* Undertake professional development activities.
* Participate in school planning, raising achievement, and individual reviews.
* Prepare reports and attend multi-agency meetings.
* Collaborate with external agencies to develop pupil support.
* Assess training needs and organize CPD for colleagues supporting ASN pupils.
* Promote the health, welfare, and safety of pupils.
* Contribute to maintaining good order and supporting the wider needs of the school.
This profile indicates the nature and level of responsibility associated with the post. Additional duties may be assigned as required by the Service Director of Education and Lifelong Learning to meet the needs of the service and the council.
