Start date August 2026</b></p><p><b>Please note this post is to work across both teams, Windermere & Ambleside District Nurses and Grange District Nurses</b></p><p>You will demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for holistic patient centred delivery of care within the community, with a focus on personal and professional development. You will work as part of a dynamic team who give equal importance to staff health and wellbeing, in addition to providing high standard care to our community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge relating to the increasing complexity of care delivered within the community, including wound, pressure ulcer and end of life care.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><p>The role requires excellent communication skills as you will be undertaking complex nursing assessments and developing and delivering programmes of care for patients and carers. The district nurses work a 24hr service and there is an expectation that you may be required to support this to ensure service delivery.</p><p>You will need to work collaboratively with other professionals, voluntary sector and informal carers to promote excellent care to patients in their own homes and community setting.</p><p>You will need a full UK drivers licence and access to a car in order to fulfil this role.</p><h3>Working for our organisation</h3><p>We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.</p><p>FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant‑led services.</p><p>WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non‑life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.</p><p>All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.</p><p>Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals.
