ROLE: Junior Legal Counsel - Permanent Opportunity

To compliment our team, we are seeking to employ an ambitious and enthusiastic Junior Legal Counsel to join the team in our Hillsborough head office. The successful candidate will review, manage and attend to various legal aspects of the business, primarily focusing on construction contracts together with related disputes and contentious matters.
As an overview, the Junior Legal Counsel can expect to;
1. Attend to various legal aspects of the business, primarily focusing on construction contracts together with related disputes and contentious matters.
2. Liaise with external legal advisers/insurance brokers
3. Participate in client/supplier meetings as required including travel to client sites
4. Maintain matters in an orderly manner and raise awareness within the company of legal and related commercial risks associated with contracts or negotiations in which they are involved
5. Contribute to training on relevant and topical legal matters to assist business departments within the Group
6. Communicate widely with all staff (e.g. team briefings regarding Group specific information etc)
Person Specification:
Essential
7. Qualified as a Solicitor or Barrister in N Ireland (or similar jurisdiction).
8. Previous experience within a commercial legal role (to include involvement with large, complex transactions and/or contracts).
9. Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
10. Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels of staff.
Desirable
11. At least three years’ post qualification experience
12. Previous experience within the construction industry.
13. Transactional construction projects experience
14. Experience dealing with technology/IT related contracts.
15. Construction and/or commercial disputes experience.
