Main Duties of the Job (Salaried GP): Deliver effective, high-quality medical care to patients in line with the GMS contract. Prescribe in accordance with local and national guidance. Manage long-term conditions and provide continuity of care. Complete administrative tasks promptly, including referrals and repeat prescriptions.
Participate in telephone triage and duty doctor roles on a rotational basis. Maintain accurate, compliant clinical records. Share practice workload equitably and work collaboratively with colleagues. Follow clinical guidelines, contribute to audits, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Take responsibility for specific QOF areas as delegated. Attend and contribute to practice meetings. Engage in practice development including governance, training, finance, and HR. Comply with appraisal and revalidation requirements.
Commit to ongoing professional development and support CPD within the team. Contribute to the training of medical students across disciplines. Support partners in achieving practice objectives, including financial efficiency. Adhere to practice policies and protocols, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Encourage collaborative working and effective communication across all staff. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to: a. Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead b. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)
