This is a full-time position starting in April. We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual who is dedicated to providing an outstanding Science education. The successful candidate will have the chance to lead a dynamic and innovative Science department, working with a team of dedicated and talented educators. They will have the opportunity to shape the curriculum and develop exciting and engaging lessons that inspire students to explore and excel in the field of Science. As the Head of Science, they will play a key role in fostering a love for Science amongst students, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. They will also have the chance to collaborate with other department heads and contribute to the school's overall educational goals. Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the Science department, ensuring the delivery of a rigorous and engaging Science curriculum
* Provide strategic direction and support to Science teachers, fostering a culture of excellence
* Monitor and evaluate student progress in Science, implementing targeted interventions
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching and learning resources
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, upholding the school's values
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's Science program
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and achievements
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Specialization in Science or a related field
* Postgraduate degree in Science or Science Education (preferred)
Experience and Skills:
* Significant experience teaching Science, preferably within an independent school setting
* Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
* In-depth knowledge of the Science curriculum and effective teaching methodologies
* Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with advancements in Science education
