A supportive and well-regarded primary school in Morecambe is seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide focused 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs and autism. Role Overview
As part of the school’s SEN provision, you will work closely with the SENDCO and wider SEN team to ensure high-quality, tailored support for the pupil. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing consistent, individualised 1:1 support to meet SEMH and autism-related needs.
* Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and IEPs.
* Adapting learning materials and approaches to meet the pupil’s individual requirements.
* Assisting with behaviour regulation using calm, structured techniques.
* Contributing to a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that supports wellbeing and engagement.

Candidate Requirements
The school is looking for a professional who demonstrates:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and/or autism.
* Strong behaviour management skills with a calm and patient approach.
* Confidence delivering 1:1 or small-group SEN support.
* Ability to adapt learning resources and communication methods.
* Good teamwork skills and the ability to build positive, trust-based relationships.
* Reliability and commitment to the role for the full academic year.
