Overview
We are currently seeking a QA Laboratory Assistant to join a dynamic team in the laboratory. You will be responsible for ensuring that all raw materials and finished goods meet the necessary quality and safety specifications through inspection and testing.
Key Responsibilities
* Assure that all incoming raw materials, bulk products, and finished goods meet relevant specifications and procedures.
* Carry out microbiological and analytical testing and report results.
* Monitor and report on Trade Effluent discharge to ensure compliance with agreed discharge consent.
* Ensure the preparation and handling of all chemicals used in testing are carried out correctly.
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping across all laboratory areas.
* Assist in the inspection and sampling of materials to ensure they meet quality requirements.
* Report non-conformities to the Quality Coordinator and assist in taking corrective actions as required.
* Provide support to the team as needed, including assistance with NCPs, complaints, and supplier issues.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
* A-levels (or equivalent) in a Science discipline, preferably Biology or Chemistry-related.
* Experience working in a fast-paced laboratory or quality control environment.
* Previous knowledge and experience in working within a laboratory setting.
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Flexible approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to make decisions and take responsibility for your work.
Desired:
* Working Safety Certificate.
* Manual Handling Certificate.
* Previous experience in a similar industry.
* A minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience.
* Knowledge of GxP/ GMP standards.
* Understanding of HACCP.
Shift Hours
* Saturday-Sunday: 6:00am – 6:00pm
* Tuesday-Wednesday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

* Promote and actively assist with Health & Safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
