Overview
As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in building, automating, and optimising secure, scalable platforms that underpin critical services. You’ll take ownership of DevOps practices, contribute innovative solutions to technical challenges, and collaborate with expert teams in an environment that supports your growth and impact.
Responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks to support the delivery of secure, reliable systems within on-premise environments.
* Take ownership of streamlining development and deployment workflows, ensuring platforms are scalable, resilient, and aligned with business and technical requirements.
* Work closely with software developers, infrastructure engineers, and security teams to implement best practices across automation, containerisation, and system monitoring.
* Contribute creative solutions to improve performance, enhance deployment speed, and maintain high standards of system reliability and security.
Qualifications
* Strong experience in DevOps or platform engineering roles with automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure management within secure or enterprise environments.
* Proficiency in scripting or development (Java, Python, C#, or C++).
* Strong Linux system administration skills.
* Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar automation tools.
* Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
* Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket).
* Knowledge of messaging systems (ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ) and MySQL.
* Understanding of PKI and security best practices.
Requirements
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Gloucester 5 days a week.
