About the Role:
Assist in delivering high-quality dental care both in-clinic and on the Mobile Dental Unit across the county.
Deploy with the MDU when in operation, ensuring smooth service delivery at various community locations.
Take the lead in the setup and close-down of the MDU, ensuring all equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use.
Manage and maintain stock levels for the MDU, including ordering supplies and keeping inventory up-to-date.

GDC-registered Dental Nurse
Confident working independently and as part of a mobile outreach team
Organised, reliable, and capable of managing logistical elements of the MDU
A full driving licence is desirable (for travel with the MDU) Passionate about improving access to dental care in the community

Job responsibilities
Keyaccountabilities:
Provide clinical chairside support during procedures, making informed judgments about equipment, instruments, and materials both in clinic and on the MDU across the county
Deploy with the MDU when in operation, ensuring smooth service delivery at various community locations. Take the lead in the setup and close-down of the MDU, ensuring all equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use. Manage and maintain stock levels for the MDU, including ordering supplies and keeping inventory up-to-date. Provide reception and administrative cover when needed, including accurate data entry and patient interaction recognise the varied patient pathways and tailor support accordingly Respond effectively to medical emergencies and ensure patient reassurance during procedures Maintain clinical and infection control standards in line with HTM 01-05 and Smile Together protocols Contribute to stock management, data recording, and general organisation of patient records
Participate actively in audits, practice development sessions, and team meetings Uphold health, safety, and clinical governance responsibilities across all practice sites Undertake other tasks as reasonably requested by the Practice Manager or Management Team
Professional Requirements:
Hold full General Dental Council (GDC) registration with no conditions Maintain and update clinical knowledge and competencies through CPD Be a visible ambassador of Smile Together's vision, mission, and values Demonstrate professionalism and leadership in daily interactions Support and contribute to service improvement and organisational change initiatives
Performance Against KPIs:As part of this role, you will be expected to meet agreed key performance indicators (KPIs), which may include but are not limited to: Compliance with infection control audits and standards Patient satisfaction and feedback scores Support the delivery of flexibly commissioned dental services in the community Attendance and participation in team meetings and CPD sessions Accuracy of clinical records and administrative documentation Performance will be reviewed regularly as part of 1:1s and performance review processes. You will be supported with clear objectives and development opportunities to meet and exceed these expectations.
