We are proud to be a school where children flourish academically, socially and emotionally — and where staff feel valued, supported and inspired. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team from September 2026. Applications from qualified teachers seeking a flexible role are also welcome. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner to work across the school, delivering high-quality learning during teachers’ PPA time and leadership release time, while making a genuine difference to children’s outcomes. The successful candidate will work across classes and key stages as required. Specific timetabled days, classes and deployment arrangements are not yet fixed and will be confirmed once whole-school staffing and curriculum planning for the new academic year has been finalised. Flexibility and willingness to work across different year groups will therefore be essential. Main Responsibilities Teaching and Learning • Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons to whole classes during cover sessions. • Deliver curriculum lessons likely to include RE, Music, Art or Spanish, depending on final timetable arrangements and school need. • Use agreed schemes of work and progression materials to ensure strong curriculum coverage. • Adapt learning effectively for pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and higher attainers. • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, participation, presentation and outcomes. • Assess learning during lessons and provide feedback to class teachers. • Liaise with staff to ensure continuity of learning and clear next steps. Wider Responsibilities • Support pupils with identified needs to make academic, social and emotional progress. • Prepare resources for teaching and learning. • Contribute positively to school events, visits and wider enrichment opportunities. • Work collaboratively with teachers, leaders and support staff. • Attend training and relevant meetings. • Uphold safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times. Safeguarding High Meadow Community School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to safer recruitment procedures, satisfactory references, online checks and an enhanced DBS check with barred list information. Why Join High Meadow? We offer: • Happy, respectful children who enjoy learning • A caring, inclusive ethos where every child matters • A friendly, collaborative and supportive staff team • Strong leadership with commitment to staff wellbeing • Excellent professional development opportunities • A school that values teamwork, positivity and innovation • A genuine community school with strong family links We Are Looking For Someone Who: • Holds HLTA status or has significant relevant classroom experience • Has strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management skills • Can confidently lead whole-class learning across the primary age range • Builds warm, positive relationships with children • Is organised, reliable and proactive • Understands how children learn and how to secure progress • Is flexible, adaptable and enjoys variety • Works positively as part of a team • Has high expectations and a good sense of humour Visits to School We warmly welcome visits to see our wonderful school in action. Please contact the school office to arrange a visit. If you are passionate about supporting children, enjoy variety in your role and want to be part of a warm, ambitious and supportive team, we would love to hear from you.
