The role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Wood Machinist to join our team at our site in King's Lynn, Norfolk.
Physical dexterity and the ability to perform repetitive work are prerequisites of working in this position. You should be able to use and operate woodworking machines such as crosscut, bench saws, planer, band saws and other hand tools such as nail guns, routers, and sanders. You need to be able to ensure that all the products that you have manufactured, are done so according to industry standards, and the specific instructions of the client
Some of the main responsibilities of a person working as a woodworker include:
· Engage in conversation with sales team to determine their woodworking needs.
· Picking the required materials from stock to complete works
· Set up and calibrate wood cutting machines to ensure that they are in good working conditions.
· Select and adjust cutting and milling tools to ensure that the job is properly with minimum waste.
· Cutting timber to dimensions in accordance with the instructions provided by clients.
· Fence panel manufacturing.
· Gate manufacturing.
· Firring manufacturing.
· Cutting sheet materials.
· Cleaning of your work area and disposing of any waste into the correct waste reciprocal.
· Clean and maintain woodworking tools and equipment on a regular basis and carrying out pre start checks.
As part of this role, you will be required from time to time to deliver materials to customers both domestic and trade. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence Category B.
We require candidates that are:
· Hard working and reliable.
· Able to learn quickly.
· Have a keen eye for detail.
· Enjoy working as part of a team.
· Willing to get stuck in and overcome technical and practical hurdles.
· Have experience of carpentry or have skills in working with wood and panel materials.
· Hold a counterbalance forklift licence (not essential).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,405.00-£31,000.00 per year
