A quantity surveying position offering a change of emphasis and a rewarding career trajectory in a new industry. Your Role: You will work alongside built environment experts to ascertain re-build, repair and replacement costs. The caseload will be diverse in scale and type encompassing high-rise, industrial, commercial, defence, residential, public sector, energy and infrastructure. Your findings will be used during arbitration and litigation. You will receive training and mentoring to enable you to act as an expert witness, when ready you will occasionally be required to attend court. It is hoped that in time you will be able to scale up their surveying capability. Company Profile: Long established and independently owned the practice has 160 staff internationally. Their experts are drawn directly from their respective industries and operate throughout their UK and overseas offices. They are engaged by property developers, client organisations, government agencies, legal firms, insurers, loss adjusters, utilities and manufacturers. They will ascertain the root cause of a failure or defect and cost implications. Your Profile: A quantity surveyor or cost engineer with post contract building or civil focused experience. You will need a 2:1 or above in quantity surveying, engineering or construction management and should be chartered with the RICS or CIOB, or close to achieving chartered status. Your background could have been gained with a contractor or PQS consultancy. An interest in arbitration / litigation would be advantageous. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
