There are four positions available
Location: Ysgol Penmaes
Contract: Full‑time / Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance
Start Date: September 2026
Ysgol Penmaes is a special school that currently provides education for 115 pupils aged from 3 to 19 years. From September 2026 the number on roll will increase to over 125 pupils in the first instance.
The school is situated in Brecon and maintained by Powys local authority. The school caters for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties. These include severe learning difficulties (SLD), autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). All pupils
have a Local Authority maintained Individual Development Plan.
The school is committed to providing a highly individualised and inclusive education to all its pupils, with an emphasis upon meeting their individual needs and developing their strengths and interests within a supportive and caring environment.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher who is passionate about working within the field of Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
