Overview
Joining us as a Boots Healthcare Logistics Driver (HLD) is a great opportunity. You’ll deliver first class care to those in the community who might otherwise never visit a Boots store. You’ll be part of a unique service that prioritises the patient behind the parcel; this role offers much more than other delivery positions.
What you’ll do
You will report into the Healthcare Logistics Manager and provide outstanding customer care by delivering and collecting medicines from care homes, patients at home, GP surgeries and other Boots stores within an allocated route time. You will help ensure timely and accurate deliveries while following safety protocols. You’ll be provided with a Boots-maintained vehicle and the training and equipment needed to work safely, including a handheld device that provides pre-planned routing and satellite navigation.
* Build great relationships with store teams, care homes and GP surgeries.
* Follow standards, operating policies and health and safety procedures.
* Drive safely and legally.
* Keep your vehicle maintained and clean, reporting any damage or issues.
* Feedback relevant customer comments and concerns and make suggestions on how the operation can be improved.

What you’ll need to have
These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role. Full training is provided for this role:
* A minimum of 1 year’s driving experience.
* Able to read and interpret delivery routes and instructions.
* Enjoy following process and working at pace to achieve service levels and targets.
* Physical stamina and capability to work in a manually demanding role with heavy lifting.
* Comfortable using new technology.
* Calm in the face of unexpected changes or challenges.
* Comfortable in new situations and meeting new people.
* A genuine desire to help people and provide legendary care.

Information about the role
We are looking for drivers who can be flexible to meet customers’ needs. Basic hours will be FT/PT per week, 5 days Monday to Saturday, covering AM, PM and Evening shifts. Typical start/finish times are 8:45–13:00, 13:45–17:00 and 18:00–21:00. You will be on-call for one additional shift per week as needed.
