Immunisation Nurse for school aged children
Support the safe and efficient delivery of the school-based immunisation programme as directed by Welsh Government.
Increase local uptake of childhood immunisations to meet national and regional targets.
To assist in national and local catch up campaigns to improve uptake. This will include the routine immunisation schedule, and offering vaccinations in response to emergency situations should they arise, e.g. MMR.
Main duties of the job
THIS POST IS TERM TIME ONLY.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Band 5 Immunisation Nurse for School Aged Children in South Powys during school term time. The work base is yet to be decided however, there will be an expectation that the successful applicant will be willing and able to travel to support colleagues throughout North Powys. Travel expenses will be provided in line with local health board policy.
The successful candidate will work with members of the School Nursing Team to organise and deliver the Welsh Government programme of immunisations to the school aged population.
The successful applicant must be able to organise their own routine and work without day to day supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills are required as is a positive attitude to the public health role that school nurses undertake.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
