Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Stocken. HMP Stocken is a category C training prison housing around 1,056 patients, mostly aged 21‑40. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team of mental health nurses, social workers, healthcare support workers, and admin staff to deliver support to adult males with complex mental health and trauma needs. Hours: 20 hours per week across 2.5 days with flexibility. Opportunities to move to full‑time in other regional establishments.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.
* Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.
* Work within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews.
Qualifications
* Registered professional with current registration (GMC).
* Specialist registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
* Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
* Understanding of the complexities of multidisciplinary and multi‑agency working.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD.
* Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation.

Compensation
Position: 20 hours per week; annual salary up to £186,480 per annum (FTE) depending on experience.
