Job Responsibilities
The holder of this post is responsible for cleaning and presentation of trains, ensuring all trains are clean and presented to the highest standard.
Ensuring cleaning duties are carried out in accordance with Train Presentation Standards and any local instructions.
You will use only approved equipment, chemicals and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment in accordance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).
Main Responsibilities
1. Ensure your personal safety and that of others, including visitors and contractors, at all times.
2. Assist traincrew and station staff in emergency and evacuation procedures when required.
3. Provide a safe, courteous, and helpful service at all times.
4. Comply with the Rules as defined in Network Rail Group Standard, South Western Railway Trains Employee Handbook, other regulations, Instructions, Group Standards, and Legislation.
5. Assist customers, especially those with special needs or during service disruptions.
6. Clean and present trains for service according to Train Presentation Standards.
7. Provide proactive information to managers and supervisors to improve train presentation standards.
8. Undertake cleaning of biological hazards and observe COSHH Regulations.
9. Complete required paperwork, detailing and signing off all work carried out.
10. Dispose of waste, including bio-waste and sharps, in accordance with local instructions.
11. Report problems or defects to the Manager.
12. Undertake additional tasks as required by the local manager.
13. Wear uniform (including name badge) and safety clothing, maintaining a high standard of appearance.

About the Location
Bournemouth Depot hosts a fleet of South Western Railway trains. The engineering team manages projects such as overhaul work on the 159 fleet, repainting of class 444's and 450's, and modifications to the new Arterio fleet, aiming to enhance travel speed and reliability.
Working Pattern
37 hours per week over 5.5 days, with permanent night shifts on a 20-week rolling roster:
* 20:30 - 05:00
* 21:30 - 06:00
* 22:00 - 06:00
