Boston Energy provides technical support in the construction and service & maintenance phases of the On and Offshore Wind sector. This role is situated in the Commercial function and collaborates closely with the technical, operations and finance departments.
This role is an important element of the BE journey as we seek to strengthen our ability to quickly and diligently review and successfully close customer facing agreements which have acceptable commercial, technical and legal risk profiles.
Our new Contract and Bid Manager will be responsible for initiating the following:
* Strongly contribute in managing an opportunity from initial identification of a customer requirement through to contract win and eventually a renewal strategy
* Responsible for managing quality, content and timeliness in all stage of the bidding phases, creating customer responses, offers and responding to contractual queries and RFQs.
* Support the business by conducting customer facing discussions and negotiating acceptable contractual terms
* Ensure that the most appropriate and relevant solutions for each bid are effectively structured by cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders
* Ensuring project stage gates are met and appropriate approvals are obtained on time and in full
* Facilitate the qualification of bids at the appropriate process stages using standardised tools and methodology
* Alert any issues or identify risks during the bid phase to the appropriate stakeholders within the business and where appropriate, initiate and manage external legal/commercial support experts as needed.
* To digest and fully understand customer requirements and provide clear and concise input to the costing team. Ultimately have 2 of the 4 eye requirement on the pricing outputs.
* Be responsible for the handover of the contract to the Commercial and Operational teams
* Constantly aim to improve both process and offerings to ensure maximum effectiveness in the bidding/renewal phases
* To provide management oversight on progress with Master Service Agreements and contract reviews
Educational Qualifications:
* Professional Certification in a relative study – desired
Key Experiential Characteristics:
* > 3 years’ experience as a Contracts Manager or other similarly relevant role.
* Strong understanding of commercial and legal contract terminology.
* > 3 years contract negotiation experience in Wind or closely related field (mech//elec rotating equipment)
* Ability to craft/draft contractual agreements and clauses.
* P & L understanding and how elements of the P & L should be reflected in our costing modelling.
* Technical and Commercial awareness, vocabulary, meaning, importance, relevance etc
* Awareness of CDM regulations and implications

* Full proficiency on Microsoft office suite
* Ability to pay particular attention to details

* Familiarity with P & L’s
