Hourly pay rate: £12.60 per hour.
Notes: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required. If successful, you will be engaged directly or employed by the individual employer, not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on suitability and agreement with the employer. If employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract. An exemption for gender is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9.
Hours and responsibilities
The hours include alternate weekend mornings (3 hours per shift) and weekend teatime calls around 5pm to 6pm, Monday through to Sunday evening 5pm to 6pm. The role also includes getting tea and providing support in the evenings. Some days require travel to hospital appointments or to collect prescriptions, and you will need a car as there are no bus services to the location.
Hours: every other weekend mornings; every weekend evenings around 5pm to 6pm; daily calls 5pm to 6pm Monday through Sunday.
Typical duties include:
* Helping with personal care
* Changing beds
* Keeping hygiene areas clean
* Washing hair
* Cooking
* Hoovering
* Making sandwiches
* Going to the post office to handle money
It is noted that the employer is chatty and values conversation, but may need to be woken for meals on bad days. Being a dog lover is desirable as there is a pet dog in the home.
