About the Role:
We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and reliable Childcare Assistant or Practitioner to join our small and nurturing home-based childminding setting. This role is perfect for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is passionate about their development, safety, and wellbeing.

Candidates who demonstrate strong experience, qualifications, and leadership qualities may be considered for additional responsibilities or even a managerial role in time, depending on the outcome of the interview and induction.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Support the day-to-day care of children aged 0–8 in a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment.
* Engage children in play-based learning activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Help with daily routines such as meals, nappy changing, toileting, and rest times.
* Promote positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing.
* Ensure the setting remains clean, safe, and organised throughout the day.
* Observe, monitor and support each child's development – contributing to record-keeping where appropriate.
* Communicate effectively with the lead childminder, other team members, and families.
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For:
* Essential:
* Experience working with children (in any setting: nursery, school, home-based, voluntary, etc.)
* A caring, patient, and proactive attitude with a genuine love for working with children.
* Good communication skills and a positive team player.
* A willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within the role.
* Must be eligible to work in the UK.
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or already hold one).
* Preferred (but not required):
* Childcare qualification (Level 2 or above).
* Paediatric First Aid certificate.
* Knowledge of the EYFS framework.
* Safeguarding training or willingness to complete it.
* Prior experience in a home-based childcare environment.
Progression Opportunities:
Candidates who demonstrate strong potential, especially those with a Level 3 qualification or higher, may be eligible for a managerial role, supporting with planning, leadership, and compliance tasks.
