What we are looking for: We are currently seeking a Royal Enclosure Sector Manager to oversee our Royal Enclosure during our Flagship Event Royal Ascot, located in Ascot, Berkshire. The ideal candidate would be required to be on site for the following dates: Tuesday 5 th May 2026 at a day rate of £300 Pre event days: 8-15 th June 2026 at a day rate of £300 Event Days: 16 th -20 th June 2026 at a day rate of £350 Post Event Days: Sunday 21st at a day rate of £300 Monday 22 nd June at a day rate of £150 (Half Day) Pre- and post-event days will run from 08:00–16:00, while event days will be 07:30 until site clear (approximately 20:00). Role Purpose: As the Royal Enclosure Sector Manager, you are the main point of contact for all operations within the Royal Enclosure during Royal Ascot. It will be your duty to ensure that all staff and contractors reporting to you have been fully briefed, trained and in possession of all relevant documentation and information prior to an event day starting. You will be required to liaise with emergency services within your sector as a matter of course throughout the event and co-ordinate on security or safety related matters with the police and control during the event. The role will also require that you, manage, organise, monitor performance and maintain ARL’s required standards for staff within your designated area. Should an incident take place within your area it will be your responsibility to co-ordinate the situation in conjunction with the emergency services. Principle Accountabilities: Overall security and safety of all persons visiting or working in your sector. You are to be fully conversant with racecourse race day routine, facilities, emergency procedures and staff duties. Provide support to other Sector Managers in the event of incidents or accidents that may occur. Ensure all staff maintain high standards of customer service, without compromising high standards of security awareness, including searching and screening of visitors. Carry out security and staff briefings and to ensure that all staff are in receipt of any notices, instructions, and daily timetable etc prior to an event day. Supervise and control all staff to ensure they perform to the standards set by ARL. Action to be taken in the event of an emergency, including the removal of turnstiles, the opening of gates and the location of emergency equipment. Manage the movement of ticket and cash security, also ensure staff are fully aware of the badges and tickets in use for the event. Capable of motivating the team and give regular feedback on performance to staff members. To be fully conversant with the Ascot layout and facilities and procedures Qualifications and experience: Preferred Skills, Experience and Qualifications As the Royal Enclosure Sector Manager the preferred person undertaking this role should have previous managerial experience. Must be capable of working in difficult situations and have the ability of meeting set deadlines and ensuring attention to detail. Recent and relevant experience in a similar role in the events industry Level 4 Crowd Management Safety Qualification NEBOSH general certificate Experience of delivering outstanding customer experience Excellent communication, interpersonal and operational skills Good standards of communication and personal appearance Commitment to produce good working standards at all times Capable of motivating, coaching and running a team of staff Safety Awareness: In accordance with Health and Safety regulations the jobholder is required to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of the persons who may be affected by their activities particularly where staff are working with or close to horses.
