This will be across 2 PA of time (1PA = 4 hours).
Responsibilities
* The Training Programme Director will be responsible for managing specialty training programmes for doctors holding the following appointments: specialty registrar (StR) and locum appointments for training (LATs).
* The TPD should be a Consultant and is accountable to the Postgraduate Dean or appropriate Associate Dean. They may also combine the role with that of an educational and/or clinical supervisor.
* Advise on curriculum design, assessment, and progression of trainees; monitor training quality and ensure compliance with national standards.
* Collaborate with local training committees, clinical leads, and workforce planning to align training with service needs.
* Support recruitment, induction, and implementation of educational initiatives within paediatrics in the West region.
Qualifications and eligibility
* Must be a Consultant eligible for appointment as a Training Programme Director.
* Experience in postgraduate medical education and supervision is desirable.
* Eligibility and entitlement to work in the UK, maintained throughout employment (evidence to be produced on request).
* Able to participate in secondment arrangements where applicable.
