Salary: £55,000 - £58,000 per annum (dependent upon experience)

They are investing in their major loss capability and are now seeking an experienced Domestic Major Loss Adjuster to support customers across the Hampshire & Sussex region.

Your New Role
In this role, you will take full ownership of high‑value domestic property claims, managing them from initial instruction through to final settlement.
Operating in a remote and field-based capacity, you will visit customers on site, coordinate stakeholders, and provide reassurance and expert guidance during what can be a difficult and stressful time. You will be trusted to manage your caseload independently, delivering fair outcomes while maintaining strong technical and commercial control.
You will be responsible for handling claims on a cradle‑to‑grave basis, balancing customer care with cost‑effective settlement strategies and regulatory compliance.
Your New Responsibilities:
* Manage high‑value domestic property claims from instruction to conclusion
* Conduct on‑site visits and liaise directly with policyholders
* Assess damage, validate policy coverage, and determine liability
* Manage contractors, suppliers, and tender processes for reinstatement works
* Maintain accurate technical files and ensure compliance with best practice and regulation
* Proactively communicate with customers, providing clear guidance and reassurance
* Deliver timely, fair, and commercially sound claim outcomes
Your experience:
* Experience handling high‑value domestic property claims, ideally around £100,000+
* Candidates with strong experience handling claims of £50,000+ will also be considered
* Progression towards Dip CII is advantageous but not essential
* Strong understanding of:
* Insurance policy interpretation
* Subrogation and liability
* Underwriting principles
* ABI and technical reporting standards
Solid knowledge of:
* UK building practices and regulations
* Property reinstatement and repair processes
* Tendering and contractor management
* Proven ability to manage claims from cradle to grave
* A customer‑first mindset, with strong communication and empathy
