Sales Manager (Construction)
Location: Birmingham - with hybrid working
Salary: £60,000 basic + car allowance + bonus (realistic OTE £100k-£120k)

The Opportunity..
This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established construction business with a clear pathway to Sales Director. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop its sales function.
The business operates nationally from its Midlands base, delivering refurbishment and fit-out projects across multiple sectors including office, industrial, healthcare, education and leisure & hospitality.
This is a key strategic role within the organisation, responsible for driving new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline and strengthening client relationships. The successful Sales Manager will work closely with the Pre-Construction team to develop opportunities and convert them into secured projects.
This position offers a clear pathway to Sales Director for the right individual who can demonstrate leadership, strategic thinking and strong commercial performance.
The Role..
The Sales Manager will take ownership of the company's sales activity, ensuring a structured and proactive approach to identifying, developing and securing new opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading the sales function and supporting the delivery of the company's growth strategy.
2. Managing and maintaining the company CRM system to track opportunities and contacts.
3. Developing and managing a robust sales pipeline.
4. Producing monthly sales reports including pipeline value, forecasts and conversion performance.
5. Building strong relationships with existing clients and key industry stakeholders.
6. Identifying and targeting new business opportunities within key sectors.
7. Representing the business at industry events and networking opportunities.
8. Working closely with the Pre-Construction team to assess and develop new enquiries.
9. Supporting the preparation of PQQs, RFPs and RFQs.
About You..
The successful candidate will have strong industry knowledge and experience developing client relationships within the construction sector.
Essential experience:
10. Proven sales experience working for a construction company within commercial refurbishment or fit-out sectors.
11. Strong background in sales, business development or client relationship management within construction.
12. Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system.
13. Experience supporting PQQ, RFP or tender submissions.
14. Ability to interpret project enquiries and collaborate with pre-construction teams.
