TPF Recruitment are proud to be supporting a highly regarded and flexible firm of Chartered Accountants in Newbury in their search for an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join their growing tax team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished tax professional seeking a varied role that combines both personal and corporate tax advisory work, alongside compliance oversight, client relationship management, and team development. The position offers exposure to a broad client base, ranging from private individuals and owner‑managed businesses through to larger corporate groups.
While this position is advertised as a Mixed Tax role, Personal Tax/Private Client candidates are also encouraged to apply as the vacancy can be adjusted to suit this.
The Role
As a Mixed Tax Senior Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advice and support across a diverse portfolio of clients. Working closely with partners and senior stakeholders, you will provide strategic guidance on a range of complex tax matters while helping to drive the continued growth and success of the tax function. This is a highly visible position within the firm, offering significant client interaction and the opportunity to influence both client outcomes and internal tax strategy.
Responsibilities
Managing and reviewing personal and corporate tax compliance work
Advising clients on a wide range of tax planning matters
Providing advice on matters relating to EMI, EIS, employment‑related securities, ATED and HMRC enquiries
Reviewing complex tax affairs for directors, shareholders and high‑net‑worth individuals
Acting as a senior technical resource for colleagues across the firm
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, becoming a trusted adviser
Supporting, mentoring and developing junior members of the tax team
Working alongside partners on advisory projects and strategic initiatives
Contributing to business development activities and identifying opportunities to expand client services
Requirements
CTA qualified, or ACA, ACCA or ATT qualified with significant UK tax expertise
Strong mixed tax background gained within a professional practice environment
Proven experience advising owner‑managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients
Technically strong across both personal and corporate tax matters
Confident managing client relationships and delivering advisory‑led work
Previous experience reviewing work, mentoring team members and supporting staff development
Commercially aware with excellent communication and relationship‑building skills

Salary circa £70,000 – £85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualification status
