Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: Leicester Contract: Permanent, term-time only, part time 32.5 hours per week Salary: Scale 4, £26403 - £28,142 pro rata (£19,913 - £21,225 actual per annum) Job Overview The Cover Supervisor is responsible for supervising students during lessons when a teacher is absent. The role ensures continuity of learning by maintaining a focused classroom environment and supporting students to complete the work that has been set. The postholder plays an important role in maintaining high expectations for behaviour and engagement, ensuring students remain safe, respectful and productive throughout the school day. When cover supervision is not required, the role also involves providing additional support to students and departments to assist with learning activities and organisational tasks. Key Responsibilities Supervise classes during the short-term absence of a teacher, ensuring that students remain on task with the work provided. Maintain a positive and orderly learning environment that supports effective classroom behaviour. Provide guidance to students to help them understand and complete the work set by teaching staff. Record lesson attendance accurately in accordance with organisational procedures. Follow safeguarding procedures and respond appropriately to any immediate welfare concerns.
