We are looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager (Secondment) to join our Infrastructure team on a 6-month fixed‑term contract for our latest highways project based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced safety professional to work in a collaborative environment influencing and leading on all aspects of health and safety performance.
Responsibilities
* Understand the Company Health & Safety and Wellbeing Policies and Procedures and statutory requirements and ensure that the requirements are implemented.
* Provide operational and functional management with advice on the prevention of accidents, ill health, and the practical implementation of the company's SHW policies.
* Assist the Project Manager in preparing and developing the Project Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan & coordinate reviews as required.
* Undertake site SHW inspections as required and participate as requested in "Company" SHW Audit and inspections.
* Maintain the health and safety competency matrix of the scheme.
* Provide advice on subcontractor assessment, appointment, and support with tenders and presentations to external stakeholders.
* Advise on the preparation of SHW risk assessments, Method Statements, and monitor project SHW performance with regular reporting.
* Assist in developing and delivering SHW training programs, ensuring staff with SHW responsibilities receive appropriate training and inductions.
Qualifications
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General certificate or equivalent NVQ.
* Relevant SHW experience within construction is desirable but not exclusive to construction; a similar high-risk industry would be considered.
* Graduate IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent.
* Driving licence.
