Overview
CAMHS Clinical Psychologist, Looked after children. Band 8a post for Bedfordshire and Luton CAMHS Looked After Children's Team. Based in Bedford with cross-site work across Bedfordshire and Luton CAMHS services. We are looking for someone with passion and experience of working with looked after children to join the growing team.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team to support children and adolescents with highly complex and persistent mental health difficulties.
* Provide a range of trauma-informed interventions delivered on an individual, group, or family basis.
* Conduct assessments, plan, implement and evaluate interventions using evidence-based practice.
* Provide consultations to social workers and foster carers; support professional networks working with looked after children.
* Share OT specialist skills with the multidisciplinary team; contribute to service development and quality improvement.
Requirements
* Essential: A qualification and professional registration in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or a related HCPC-accredited pathway (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology; or Counselling Psychology; or Health Psychology; or Education Psychology or equivalent).
* Experience: Minimum two years as a qualified Clinical Psychologist, including work with young people with complex mental health needs; experience in care planning; direct clinical service delivery with supervision; experience working in a multidisciplinary setting; knowledge of looked after children.
* Desirable: Further training in DDP; experience of CAMHS; experience with a wide range of CAMHS problems; ability to facilitate group work.
Skills
* Experience delivering CBT; specialist clinical skills in specific therapeutic modalities.
* Ability to manage own time and caseload; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to lead, support and influence others.
* Ability to work effectively across organisational boundaries; teaching skills in clinical and educational settings; basic computer skills.
* Desirable: well-developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS; experience facilitating group work.
