The school is seeking a full-time SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026 or earlier.

🧠 About the Role:
You’ll be supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who face emotional and behavioural challenges, including those with ADHD, Autism (ASC), attachment difficulties, and trauma-related needs. Many pupils may display challenging behaviour, and your role will be key in helping them regulate, engage, and succeed.
Your responsibilities will include:
 * Providing consistent 1:1 and small group support focused on emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development
 * Supporting pupils through transitions, sensory needs, and moments of dysregulation using trauma-informed approaches
 * Collaborating with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to implement EHCPs and personalised support plans
 * Using restorative practices and therapeutic strategies to build trust and promote resilience
 * Creating a calm, structured, and emotionally safe space for pupils to thrive
✅ Ideal Candidate:
 * Experience supporting children with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour in a school or care setting
 * Calm, empathetic, and confident in de-escalating difficult situations
 * Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, and behaviour strategies
 * Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset
 * A valid Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
