Overview
Enfield Legal Services are seeking an experienced lawyer to serve as Principal Lawyer (Commercial and Criminal Litigation). The role reports to the Director of Law and Governance and is part of the departmental management team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of highly skilled legal professionals.
* Handle a caseload of complex commercial, criminal, employment, housing and judicial review work.
* Provide excellent client care and maintain high court presentation standards.
* Engage with chief officers, elected members and attend evening meetings as needed.
* Support high‑level work in housing and licensing related matters.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential: Fully qualified solicitor or barrister with demonstrable experience in local authority law, commercial and criminal litigation, employment law, housing law, and judicial review.
Desirable: Experience in public sector legal practice; leadership and team‑management experience; knowledge of licensing and housing legislation.
