Deputy Safeguarding Lead Solihull £26,300 - £29,000 (Term time only 2 weeks) £28,500 - £31,500 (Full time equivalent) Hours: 37.5 hours a week We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Safeguarding Lead and Pastoral Support Officer to join an existing team and play a crucial role in ensuring students are safe, supported and ready to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to: * Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all students. * Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding matters in the DSL’s absence. * Coordinate referrals, liaise with external agencies, and maintain accurate records. * Support the implementation of training and awareness across all departments * Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and thrive both personally and academically. * Build strong relationships with students, families and external partners to ensure the best possible outcomes. You will have: * A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline. * Safeguarding training and experience in child protection and multi-agency working. * A passion for supporting young people, especially those facing challenging circumstances. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues confidentially and professionally. * Strong ICT and record-keeping skills, with a keen eye for detail. * A genuine commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. Experience within an educational setting and/or previous work in a safeguarding or pastoral role is required for this position.
