We are currently looking for a professional and experienced Medical Secretary to join our team at The London Clinic, working alongside a busy and supportive group of fellow medical secretaries in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest private hospitals, with 8 state-of-the-art facilities, and circa 1350 employees where we are dedicated to providing our patients with expert, individualised treatment and care. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 150+ patient beds and 10 operating theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive/day surgery theatres. Speciality areas include, General surgery; ENT; Gynaecology; Hepatobiliary; Neuro-spinal; Ophthalmic; Orthopaedic; Plastic and reconstructive; Robotic; Urology; Vascular & Weight loss surgery (bariatric surgery).
Job profile
We are looking for someone with a background in private practice who is confident supporting senior Consultants and comfortable managing the demands and pace of a busy private clinic. You will need to be highly organised, and when they arise, able to manage complex and challenging situations.
You'll play a key role in delivering and evolving the admin support services provided to Consultants to include diary management, medical correspondence, general patient liaison and managing appointments, all whilst maintaining absolute discretion and professionalism at all times.
Previous experience working within endocrinology or hepatology/liver services would be a bonus but not essential as we can help bring you up to speed as you go.

Key responsibilities
Providing first point of contact for patients, relatives, G.Ps', Clinic's staff and other professional bodies
Providing Consultants with a comprehensive range of administrative services whilst developing their practice within The London Clinic
Assisting in the organisation of Consultants workloads
Maintaining highest levels of discretion and confidentiality concerning patient information at all times
Supporting clinicians with any queries on The London Clinic's policies and procedures, systems and administration by being the first point of contact and the link between other internal departments
Action all Consultants' correspondence appropriately, in a timely manner, ensure all patient notes, appointments, patient details, referral letters etc are captured on the system
Skills & experience
Strong background in private healthcare administration
Proven ability to support Consultants in a busy, fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
Confident managing complex diaries and sensitive patient information with discretion
Familiarity with medical terminology and patient pathways; experience in endocrine or liver specialisms is desirable but not essential
Patient-focused, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service
