Pay Search Account Director at WPP Media. Responsible for coordination and delivery of paid search campaigns. Key program point of contact for clients.
Role Summary and Impact
Paid Search Account Director leads campaign strategy, manages account budgets, works with Media Activation team, develops testing plans, contributes to regional strategy.
Responsibilities
* Effective running of designated account campaigns integrating cross‑channel strategy.
* Accountable for adherence to controls and best practices across channels, especially paid search.
* Escalate conflicts between best practice and program needs.
* Primary contact between Media Activation team and stakeholders.
* Develop strong client and supplier relationships, communicate insight.
* Maintain in‑depth knowledge of search platforms, bid management.
* Oversee development of client testing plans for tactical and mid‑term actions.
* Strategic understanding of client KPIs, trend spotting.
* Contribute to regional paid search strategy, provide insight.
* Strong written and verbal communication across all platforms.
* Expert organizational skills, attention to detail.
* Concrete knowledge of all areas of digital marketing and media.
* Implement and adhere to deadlines, manage multiple campaigns.
* Excellent client relationship and management skills.
* Proven problem solving, creative solutions.
* Lead and motivate team members, positive leadership.
* Detail oriented, responsive, deadline‑driven quantitative reasoning skills.
* Deliver results proactively with little senior input.
* Motivational manager, coaching juniors.
* Assist in leading team through vision, values, leadership behaviors.
* Provide feedback to aid development.
* Monitor client satisfaction, improve ways to maintain satisfaction.
* Foster working relationship across client teams to facilitate execution.
* Strong and effective communication across all levels.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
* Understand when to elevate issues to Senior Client Director and senior management.
* Provide awareness and recognition for jobs well done.
Qualifications
* Senior Account Manager level in digital media or advertising.
* Project management, leadership and management experience.
* Experience managing large‑scale PPC accounts via AdWords, Bing Ads or third‑party platforms; Doubleclick Search certification desirable.
* Experience managing display accounts and campaigns on GDN.
* Knowledge of media planning fundamentals: reach, frequency, channels.
* Managing search vendor relationships.
* Contributing to search best practices and campaign processes.
* Google Analytics knowledge (certification desirable).
* Experience with paid social, programmatic display & reservation‑based buying desirable.
* Experience running campaigns across multiple countries / languages.
