A permanent salaried GP position ideally covering 6 - 8 sessions from Tuesday to Friday. Located in the heart of East Lancashire, our practice prioritizes patient care and values staff contributions. The Pendle Medical Partnership in East Lancashire is seeking an additional team member. Currently, we have 12 GPs serving 15,250 patients across two sites. We welcome applicants with experience in General Practice who are interested in developing their leadership skills within a dedicated, high-quality team.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, managing a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting while maintaining high standards of patient care. Our team is close-knit and supportive, emphasizing team-based care. Responsibilities include conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, and utilizing care navigated patient triage through EConsult. The role involves typical GP duties, including participating in a duty doctor rota, occasional Saturday clinics, and supporting junior staff and allied health professionals.

Job responsibilities
* Available for 6 - 8 sessions weekly, Tuesday to Friday, with flexibility based on practice needs.
* Participate in the additional hours rota, including occasional Saturday mornings (approximately 1 in 10).
* Make autonomous clinical decisions regarding patient presentation and referrals.
* Assess undifferentiated health problems and develop management plans.
* Screen for disease risk factors and early illness signs.
* Develop care plans in consultation with patients, following current protocols.
* Provide health education and counseling.
* Manage patient admissions, discharges, and referrals appropriately.
* Record consultation notes clearly and contemporaneously.
* Generate prescriptions electronically, avoiding handwritten prescriptions where possible.
* Prescribe within formulary guidelines or generically when appropriate.
* Undertake all standard duties of a GP in a primary care setting.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience working in a GP practice.
Qualifications
* Vocationally trained and accredited GP.
* GMC registered.
* Registered on a CCG performers list.
* MRCGP qualification.
* Proficient with IT and digital health technologies.
