As we continue to grow, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual who is passionate about mental wellbeing to join the team as a Wellbeing Advisor. You will play a key role in supporting the operational success of the Student Support and Welfare department and will contribute to the implementation of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, ensuring students have access to – and engage with – Mental Health and Wellbeing support.

What you'll be doing
You will support with ensuring our students are well supported to achieve their academic goals via the provision of a first in class service that caters to our university and apprenticeship provision, our increasing international demographic, engages with outreach and widening participation activities, and is accessible, inclusive and equal for all learners at BPP.
As such, you will be responsible for:
* Respond appropriately to disclosures and concerns which relate to the wellbeing of a student in a timely manner, ensuring all vulnerable students are supported appropriately and sensitively
* Manage a diverse caseload of students, prioritising those with complex needs and safeguarding concerns for referral to Safeguarding or other services as appropriate
* Act as a first point of contact for students with non-academic problems, such as social or emotional issues and providing support in collaboration with specialist teams where appropriate
* Support learners requiring support of a counselling service and carry out initial assessments as required
* Provide workshops and resources that encourage students to develop a mindful attitude toward their studies to embed wellbeing and mental health resilience into the student experience
* Being active on staff and student groups promoting mental health and wellbeing initiatives including on the Virtual Campus
* Support with organising wellbeing events, staff training, workshops and student engagement opportunities
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role you will need to have a proven track record in the following areas:
* A degree (or equivalent qualification) or relevant professional experience
* Recognised, relevant professional qualification in the field of wellbeing
* Experience of managing a caseload and providing wellbeing/pastoral student support
* Passionate about improving wellbeing and mental health, with an ability to sustain professional practice with warmth and integrity - especially when under pressure.
* Up to date knowledge of current issues in mental health, well-being and welfare with a particular focus on higher education and it's regulatory bodies i.e. Ofsted, OFS and DfE
* Experience of organising wellbeing events would be highly advantageous
