About the Role
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (OT)/Clinician to join our expert Mobility team in Belfast. This key role will contribute to the delivery of vital services that make a real difference to the communities we serve. Disability Actions’ Mobility Services offers drivers and passengers assessments and expert advice on driving and vehicle adaptations for disabled and older individuals in Belfast and across 8 satellite sites throughout Northern Ireland.
As part of the team, you will work alongside specialist driving assessors to conduct driving and passenger assessments and provide expert support to clients and contribute to service development and value‑added experiences.
The successful candidate will report to the Mobility Centre Manager and play an integral role in shaping the future of our Mobility Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your expertise while supporting our mission to create a more inclusive society.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct driving assessments as part of a dual team, providing clinical evaluations of individuals’ driving abilities
* Provide advice and guidance to clients in a friendly and positive manner
* Support team and personal development through ongoing collaboration and learning
* Prepare and submit detailed driving assessment reports within tight deadlines, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
* Maintain accurate and professional report writing to uphold high standards
* Deliver services across Northern Ireland, covering the full geographic area
* Collaborate with team members to promote the Mobility Centre’s services throughout Northern Ireland
* Engage with various departments, such as Marketing, to enhance internal knowledge and create a positive experience for service users
* Participate in professional development activities to continually enhance skills and knowledge
* Work with the Mobility Centre Manager and colleagues to develop the role and support ongoing service improvements
* Attend meetings and events as required, including those held across the UK
* Ensure professionalism and confidentiality at all times, adhering to GDPR and data protection standards in all processes and communications
* Perform any additional duties necessary to meet the requirements of the position
* Undertake training to conduct fitness to drive assessments in collaboration with clinicians and assessors to evaluate the ability of individuals, especially those with health‑related conditions or disabilities, to drive safely
Essential Criteria Qualifications and Registration
* BSc, MSc, or Dip COT in Occupational Therapy (Consideration will also be given to strong applications from final year students due to graduate 2026)
* Registered and in good standing with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Skills and Competencies
* Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record‑keeping
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction
* Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
