Job Opportunity: Flood Risk Consultant
My client, a market-leading multidisciplinary Civil and Environmental Consultancy, is seeking a Flood Risk Consultant to join their innovative team. This position offers hybrid working arrangements from Shrewsbury.
Applicants should have a strong academic background in Hydrology, Civil, or Water Engineering, with experience working for a UK-based Consultancy or Water Company, particularly in flood risk assessments or hydrological assessments.
It is advantageous for applicants to reside locally to facilitate site visits in flood risk areas.
This exciting role provides the opportunity to work with an experienced team on projects including flood risk assessments, catchment management, surface water management, nutrient neutrality, re-wilding, and natural flood management for Local Authorities, Water Companies, and Government Bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct Flood Risk Assessments
* Implement Natural Flood Management strategies
* Manage Re-wilding and Habitat Management projects
* Re-wet farmland and create wetlands
* Develop Surface Water Management Plans
* Design Large-scale Catchment Management Plans
* Perform Nutrient Neutrality Assessments
* Collect and analyze Water Quality Samples for local rivers
* Investigate Pollution Incidents
* Perform Flow Calculations
* Estimate Flooding Events
