Responsibilities
* Performing medicines reconciliation, including assessing patient own drugs.
* Developing and co-ordinating medication supply systems to meet the needs of patients.
* Participating in the safe systems for the supply of medication to wards and community-based teams.
* Performing final accuracy checking of dispensed prescriptions.
* Supporting the supply of discharge and short-term leave medication at ward level.
* Providing information to service users and their carers (where appropriate) about their medications in conjunction with the pharmacists.
* Delivering training to a variety of Health Care Professionals.
* Completing audits and reports (e.g., Controlled drug audits, safe and secure storage of medication audits).
* Education and training of junior technical and ward staff.
Requirements
* A current and valid BTEC accuracy checking qualification is required.
* The post-holder will be obliged to participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas.
