The Children’s Commissioning Team is responsible for commissioning services that support children, young people, and families. We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team, responsible for coordinating regular payments to external providers.
This role is demanding but rewarding for the right individual, focusing on ensuring payments are processed effectively and within agreed timescales.
Responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely payments for children’s services via various payment methods, including bespoke children’s payment systems, in close liaison with internal colleagues and service providers.
You will also support finance colleagues in areas such as SEND, CHAD, and Direct Payments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the administration of regular and ad hoc payments through bespoke finance systems.
2. Calculate repayments using financial data provided by providers and Direct Payment applicants, offering clear advice and repayment plans as needed.
3. Investigate finance queries from internal colleagues and Direct Payment recipients professionally and promptly.
4. Provide administrative support to Senior Finance Officers and the Direct Payments Support Officer, including maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
This is a part-time role on a temporary contract basis.
